Fawad Khan and Parineeti Chopra finalised for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gustakhiyan'?

Fawad Khan and Parineeti Chopra would reportedly share screen space for the first time in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film. It is said to be a biopic on Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam. Earlier, Irrfan Khan and Priyanka Chopra's names were doing the rounds for the roles.

According to a Filmfare report, due to unavailability of Priyanka's dates, the recent buzz is that Parineeti and Fawad have supposedly been approached to play these lead roles. Irrfan might not star in the film as Sahir's character will age from his early 20s to his 40s and 50s and the makers feel that the "Madaari" actor will not fit the younger version.

A few days ago, it was reported that Bhumi Pednekar was approached for the female lead, but now Parineeti's name seems to have found takers. "Bhumi is new, talented and not over-exposed. She's busy with 'Manmarziyan' as of now, but she has met officials from Bhansali's team. Let's hope for the best," SpotboyE had quoted a source as saying. Before Bhansali, the film was being produced by Ashi Dua, who was struggling to cast actors for primary characters like poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi, writer Amrita Pritam and artist-poet Imroz.

Apart from Bhumi and Priyanka, Deepika Padukone's and Kareena Kapoor Khan's names were also doing the rounds. "Gustakhiyan" is the third film of Bhansali that Kareena has reportedly rejected after "Bajirao Mastani" and "Goliyon Ki Rasleela – Ram Leela."

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting for the lead actors to be finalised for "Gustakhiyan." Though Fawad and Parineeti might be roped in, people have to wait for the official announcement. Parineeti is currently busy with Yash Raj Films' "Meri Pyaari Bindu" opposite Ayushmann Khurrana, while Fawad will next be seen in Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil."
