Mumbai, Sept 24 (ANI): Bollywood actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has come out in support of search giant Google's new initiative of helping women get online. Google India announced a new social campaign in association with Bollywood actor-director Farhan Akhtar's initiative MARD, to increase internet literacy among women in the country. On the occasion Akhtar even performed live on stage along with music maestros Salim Sulaiman. Google India had earlier launched a 'digital literacy' initiative campaign called 'Helping Women Get Online' (HWGO) in collaboration with Intel, HUL and Axis Bank late last year. And the 1st phase has been very successful. As in the last 12 months, the number of women using the internet has grown 35% as against 31% by men.
