Extreme Rules 2017 was the latest pay per view in the WWE calendar and it feature superstars from WWE's Raw brand. Extreme Rules saw a number of titles on the line, including the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the WWE Raw Women's Championship, the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship and the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Apart from those title matches, Extreme Rules also saw a fatal 5-way match to determined the number one contender for the WWE Universal Championship. The winner of this match would get a chance to square off against the beast Brock Lesnar himself at Great Balls of Fire next month.

Here is a quick look at the results from Extreme Rules 2017.

1. The Miz (with Maryse) defeated Dean Ambrose (c) to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion

The rules of this match stated that if Ambrose were to get disqualified he would lose his title, and through the match Miz tried to get himself disqualified by asking Maryse to slap him. But the referee saw their plan and ordered Maryse to go to the back. While all that was happening, Miz threw Ambrose at the referee and he thought he did it on purpose. Throughout all the confusion Miz hit Ambrose with a Skull-crushing Finale to become a 7-time Intercontinental Champion.

2. Rich Swann and Sasha Banks defeated Noam Dar and Alicia Fox

Midway through the match, Alicia Fox was out of the ring injured and Noam Dar was checking on her but Sasha Banks hit him with a double knee from the top rope. She along with Rich Swann got Dar back into the ring and Swann hit a twisting 450 splash for the win.

3. Alexa Bliss (c) defeated Bayley to retain her WWE Raw Women's Championship

This was a Kendo Stick-on-a-Pole match, and meant that a kendo stick will be hung above the top rope in one of the ringside corners and whoever gets hold of it, will obviously have an advantage but the winner will be decided via pinfall or submission. Bayley did get the upper hand as she was the first one to get her hands on the stick but she could not use it.

Bliss thrashed her opponent with the stick and finally hit her with a DDT to retain her championship.

4. Cesaro and Sheamus defeated The Hardy Boyz (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) (c) by escaping the cage to become the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions

The result of this match was a bit surprising. Jeff Hardy was the first to escape the steel cage but his partner Matt Hardy was left alone inside the cage. So Jeff decided to return and hit a Whisper in the Wind from the top of the cage. With Jeff on the floor, this allowed Cesaro and Sheamus to escape the cage and become the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions despite Matt exiting the door first and being unable to drag Jeff.

5. Neville (c) defeated Austin Aries to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

This was a submission match, meaning you can only win the match if your opponent taps out. Austin Aries had the upper hand as he managed to get Neville to tap out as he locked in the Last Chancery but it was outside the ring. Back inside the ring, Neville managed to hit the Red Arrow to Aries' back and locked in the Rings of Saturn to get the win.

6. Samoa Joe defeated Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Bray Wyatt to become the no.1 contender for the WWE Universal Championship

Samoa Joe has been making an impression ever since he made his debut on Raw and he made an ever bigger impression at Extreme Rules. With most of the wrestlers out on the floor, Finn Balor attacked Roman Reigns and hit him with the Coup de Grace.

And at this point it looked like a win for Balor but Joe returned in time to stop the pinfall and locked in the Coquina Clutch on Balor. He passed out as Joe won the match and will face Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire!

In the pre-show match, Kalisto defeated Apollo Crews via pinfall after he hit him with a Salida del Sol.
