A fire broke out in passenger express in North Karnataka, killing two people and injuring seven others on Tuesday.

The Hyderabad-Solapur Falaknuma express caught fire after arriving at its scheduled stop at Gulbarga railway station.

Fire fighters were pressed into service to contain the blaze. The fire was immediately brought under control before causing further damage to the stationary train, said reports.

Two compartments were reportedly gutted in the fire. The officials were not able to ascertain the cause of the fire immediately. A probe has been ordered.
