Goa, Nov 22 (ANI): Scores of devotees converged in coastal state of Goa on Saturday to witness 17th exposition of St Francis Xavier relics. The last exposition was held in 2004. The XVII solemn exposition of the sacred relics will go on till January 04, 2015. The 44-day long exposition of St Francis Xavier, fondly referred to as 'Goencho Saib', began on Saturday with an inaugural ceremony and a procession to shift the relics from the Basilica of Bom Jesus to the Se Cathedral for public veneration. Bishop of Mangalore Aloysius D’souza, who is the main celebrant at the solemn Pontifical Mass addressed the gathering, who came from daily prayers. The exposition is held in every 10 years and this is the 17th event after the first one was held in 1782.
