Amazon Prime Video has officially unveiled its 2026 slate with exciting new movies and shows featuring a star-studded cast. From Hrithik Roshan to Alia Bhatt turning producers, some rom-coms and thrillers are also coming back with sequels.

Hrithik Roshan's HRX Films is marking its OTT debut with Storm and Mess, while Alia Bhatt turns producer with Don't Be Shy and Mirzapur: The Movie. With titles like Naagzilla, the platform is going big on scale, storytelling and star power.

The streamer dropped teasers for films and shows such as Panchayat Season 5, Call Me Bae Season 2, Dahaad 2, Storm, Lukkhe, Raakh, Matka King, Tax Department Story, Teen Kauwe and Mess, among others.

Prime Video also announced the horror-comedy Naye Naveli, starring Yami Gautam. The film will be produced by Aanand L. Rai, and the announcement was made during the recent It Starts Here event. Directed by Balaji Mohan, the film is a humorous fusion of Indian mythology and folklore, with Yami set to appear in a fierce avatar.

Apart from the 2026 slate, the press conference saw a galaxy of stars under one roof, from Yami Gautam, Ananya Panday and Alia Bhatt to Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, among others. The event was hosted by Karan Johar.

However, many moments were blink-and-miss, as exes Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra didn't meet or greet each other. They attended the launch and interacted with Karan Johar but didn't greet each other openly. Several photos that have gone viral show Alia chatting with Karan and posing with Shaheen Bhatt.

Alia Bhatt has teamed up with her sister Shaheen Bhatt to produce the upcoming film Don't Be Shy. After producing Darlings and co-producing Jigra, Alia continues to expand her role as a producer.

During the event, Karan Johar told Alia, "You've truly mastered the art of being a seasoned producer already, Alia, because your answers seem beautifully independent of my questions for some reason."

Responding to the same, Alia said, "Yes Karan, because there is a way to launch actors."

Karan then quipped, "And clearly I wouldn't know that, would I? I've never done something like that," referencing how he launched Alia through Student of the Year.

The actress then said, "Well, what can I say? We've learnt from the best. And the best have always taught us that there is a timing for everything."

Karan then asked, "I have a very important question to ask you. It's crucial and critical, and it's not in a script. Are they outsiders?"

Alia replied, "Yes." Karan responded, "I'm so proud of you."

Don't Be Shy revolves around Shyamili 'Shy' Das, a 20-year-old girl who thinks she has everything figured out until her perfectly planned life takes an unpredictable turn, and things begin to spiral out of her control.

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's Vvan poster was also revealed, with the lead pair arriving at the event.

Tamannaah, who attended the event alongside her Vvan co-star, shared her excitement about finally working with him. "Sid was a long, long dream, and I'm very happy that I've had the chance to collaborate with him. I think he's a really fine actor," she said.

She added, "I have to say, it's been a long time since I heard a script for a commercial film, which I grew up loving, that also has a strong soul at its heart. That combination can be extremely powerful. I've seen that happen with some of my previous films that have done well."

"When I heard the story of this film, I felt it had such a strong anchor, with Indian folklore at the forefront. I truly believe this will be a 'pakka masala' film that leaves you very emotional by the end," she added.

The film follows a rational, urban man who ventures into his ancestral forest despite repeated warnings. His actions awaken a divine goddess, and he soon realises that some powers transcend logic. He must then rise as the village's only saviour to protect his people.

Taking to Instagram, Prime Video shared the poster of Vvan and announced that the film will release on the platform. "Vvan: Force of the Forest: A rational urban man defies his ancestral forbidden forest and awakens a divine goddess, only to realise that some powers exist beyond logic and he must rise as the village's only saviour to protect his people from annihilation," read the caption.

Vvan also features Maniesh Paul, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari and Anup Soni in key roles. The film is directed by Deepak Mishra and written by Arunabh Kumar, and is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.

For the unversed, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt co-starred in Student of the Year (2012) and Kapoor & Sons (2016), and ended their alleged one-year relationship in 2017. The breakup was described as amicable, with no lasting bitterness. Alia is now married to Ranbir Kapoor, while Sidharth is married to Kiara Advani.
