When "Empire" returns on Fox with season 2 on 23 September, it is likely to focus on Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) and Andre Lyon's (Trai Byers) move against Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson).

Although the eldest son of Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) was not happy with his father's decision to make his brother the CEO in the last season and was planning to team up with the matriarch, he will be more concerned about his family in the upcoming season.

"Andre is trying to become something different with his spirituality and with his baby on the way, so I would say that that would affect him in the way that he deals with the people in his family, even Jamal. Ultimately, there's a lot of rivalry but there's a lot of love in this family," The Hollywood Reporter quoted Trai Byers as saying.

So "Empire" fans can expect to watch some sibling love along with its impact on Cookie and her team, including Hakeem (Bryshere Y Gray), Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey) and the newly-joined concert promoter and former EMT Laz Delgado (Adam Rodriguez).

However, it will not be easy for Andre and Jamal to save the business, since Lucious' outspoken ex-wife "will return to her more ruthless beginnings" and viewers will get to watch "the Cookie that actually built Empire back in the day, starting from nothing," stated Taraji P Henson.

Meanwhile, the celeb revealed that her character will have to accomplish everything before the hip hop mogul returns from jail. "At the core of who she is, she knows he won't be in there long. He has money, he has lawyers, he has people," she said.

Apart from "CSI: Miami" actor Rodriguez, Zac Efron, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Chris Rock will reportedly join the cast of "Empire" season 2 as guest stars.
