Eid Ul Adha: Allah does not want any sacrifice or blood shed, says Sofia Hayat [Videos]

Self-proclaimed god-woman Sofia Hayat, who used to be a model, posted some videos on Instagram, saying that Eid Ul Adha is not as per the Islamic tradition, and urged people not to kill any animal in the name of sacrifice (qurbani).

Sofia shared as many as five videos, putting forward her view that "Allah does not want any sacrifice". Captioning the posts as "Eid ul addah is not Islamic", the controversial lady said that nowhere in the Quran, it is said that Allah seeks sacrifice or blood shed of any kind.

She even said that Eid Ul Adah is not a proper Eid, and it should not be celebrated. It is believed among Muslims that Prophet Ibrahim was asked by Allah to sacrifice his son, but he was stopped, and later he sacrificed a sheep. Sofia in the videos said that there is no mention of such a story in the Quran, and urged people not to sacrifice anything in the name of Allah.

"Animals are not meant to be sacrificed. Allah does not want you to sacrifice any animal at all," she said. Reciting some lines from the Quran, Sofia said that the entire story is a lie, and it has no mention in the holy book.

Eid Ul Adha, also popularly known as Bakra Eid, is one of the biggest festivals of the Muslim community. As part of the age-old ritual, sheep and goats are killed in mass scale in the name of sacrifice to God.

Her last video, she expressed her views on the caption as well. Below reads the caption:

"EID AL ADDHA SHOULD BE WIPED FROM ISLAM AS IT IS A FAKE CELEBRATION. ALLAH REQUIRES NO BLOOD SHED IN HER NAME. ALLA HU AKBAR IS PEACE ALLA HU AKBAR IS LOVE ALLAH HU AKBAR SERVES YOU.. people are just following an old tradition, that has become a habit over years, yet has no purpose. Allah does not want blood shed in her name, what is the purpose of this stupid Eid Al Addha..there is none. It serves no purpose, what are you celebrating? Allah asking Abraham to kill his son, which Allah did not ask by the way as it is not written that Allah said that, and also Allah is not barbaric, and would never ask for such a thing, and if Abraham thought that it was Allah asking him to do this in his dream, I think he was mistaken and the Devil was the one asking him in his dream, because a kind, loving God would never ask that. THINK and stop following old barbaric traditions that actually have nothing to do with Islam. our parents did not study the quran and nor did we, we just took on a bloody tradition that never belonged to Islam.

Although animal right activists and many others would agree with Sofia and her stand against animal killings, her comments are likely to trigger a big controversy.

Meanwhile, Muslim community across India are all set to celebrate Eid Ul Adha 2018 on August 22.
