EA Sports UFC 2, the next in the mixed martial arts fighting video game, has revealed Ronda Rousey -- who recently lost her first career game against Holly Holm on 15 November -- as its cover star.
But despite that Rousey, who had been the undefeated UFC champion (12-0), will go on to be the cover star for the upcoming game EA Sports UFC 2. The cover was unveiled before her fight.
EA Sports has reportedly told ESPN that it will not be replacing her as the cover after she lost the game.
EA Sports UFC 2 will see the addition of all-new Knockout Physics System, authentic gameplay features, biggest ever roster of real-world fighters in a MMA game for PS4 and Xbox One. The game will be rolled out in spring 2016.
"We're doing that by introducing innovative gameplay features, delivering a game mode for every fighter regardless of their style of play, and adding helpful tools so fans can master MMA, all while producing the jaw-dropping visuals that fans expect," said Creative Director Brian Hayes, Operation Sports reported.
EA Sports UFC 2 will feature five new game modes, revamped Career Mode with an option that will allow creation of female fighters, a first in UFC game, new Title Chase system for Online Champions. It will also provide players with tips and Tools to Master MMA.
Below are some of the key features and modes that have been listed for the EA Sports UFC 2 (Operation Sports):
Knockout Gameplay
- Knockout Physics System - A new physics-driven hit reaction and knockout system that will be rewarding and delivering authentic Kos.
- Next-Level Submissions - Now players will be able to surprise their rival with a flying armbar from the clinch, or with a quick transition from a knee bar to a heel hook. The game adds standing submissions and submission chaining (sequences).
- Dynamic Grappling - Now players will be able to experience the freedom of independent fighter control during the grappling situation. It will feature simultaneous two-fighter interactions.
- Ultimate Defence - There will be better control over the fighter's head movement that allows dodging a strike from the enemy with fluidity. Players will also be able to add improved blocking and parrying system with new tools for better defence.
