The first look poster of "Njan" starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead is released.

"Njan", directed by Ranjith has three lead heroines played by Jyothi Krishna, Anumol and new comer Shruthi Ramachandran.

The poster is a portrait of Dulquer with an illustrated figure of Steve Jobs, which is chiseled with google map image of a region in the background. The colour theme of the poster is predominantly stuck between the shades of red and brown.

The poster is designed by Kochi based designer firm Old Monks, known in the industry for bringing out posters with a fresh look. They have created some impressive posters for films like "Anwar", "Bachelor Party", "Pranayam", "Beautiful", "Ustad Hotel", "Urumi", "Bombay March 12", "Spirit", "Ee Adutha Kalathu", "Amen" and "Njan Steve Lopez".

"We have tried our best to keep the poster to match with the film's script. The poster is designed in a simple way like the film's narration. There are no much gimmicks used in the poster like our previous works such as 'Njan Steve Lopez', which required an illustrated art form of a pop culture. 'Njan' poster is more personalised, which is similar to the character's thoughts and feel. The typography we have used here is meant to add the signature feel to it, which matches to the film's tagline - 'self portrait'," said Sreejith N of Old Monks to IBTimes, India edition.

"Njan" is based on a historical fiction "K T N Katoor: Ezhuthum Jeevithavum", by T. P. Rajeevan.

The story of "Njan" is set in two eras - pre-Independence and the current world we live in. Ranjith has done the screenplay. Pre-Independence era is set in Malabar region when it was under Madras Presidency. Dulquer will be seen as a journalist and Jyothi Krishna plays as his wife in the movie.

Even though there have been no official confirmation regarding the release of the film, the industry insiders believe that "Njan" will see the light by the mid or end of September. The Dulquer starrer is produced by Gold Coin Motion Pictures.
