Zee TV's "Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani" will reportedly undergo a major change in the track. According to reports, the show, which started on a grand note with magnificent sets and a talented star cast, will take a leap of about seven years.

According to a report in India Forums, the scriptwriters and the channel are apparently working on the track and if things fall into place, the show will take the time jump soon. However, the lead actor, Siddhant Karnick aka Ranaji, is unaware of the development. "We don't know about it because we haven't been told," he told the website. Lead actress Drashti Dhami aka Gayatri too said she is not aware of the change in the track.

A few months ago, rumours of the show going off air had surfaced. It was said that the constant decrease in the ratings had forced the makers to consider the idea of pulling the plug.

If "Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani" takes a leap, it will join the list of other popular shows, which recently took a leap. Here are some of the shows, which recently took a leap or have been in the news for a possible time jump.

"Yeh Hai Mohabbatein:" The popular Star Plus show took a leap of seven years recently. Post-leap, the show has been revolving around Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi), who now lives in Australia. On the other hand, Raman (Karan Patel) and Ishita's surrogate child Pihu (Ruhaanika Dhawan) has grown up to look exactly like Ruhi. The father-daughter duo resides in Delhi.

"Saath Nibhaana Saathiya:" The show was supposed to take a generation leap, which would have seen lead actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee aka Gopi Bahu as a grandmother. But latest reports suggest that the makers have finally settled for a short leap after Devoleena expressed her reservations about ageing on-screen.

"Balika Vadhu:" The longest-running show on Colors will soon take a generation leap and also introduce a fresh cast. Post-leap, popular actress Mahhi Vij will play the role of grown-up Nimboli, which is currently being played by child artiste Gracy Goswami. Abhinav Sachdev and Ruslaan Mumtaz have also been roped in to play important roles.

"Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat:" This popular show has been in the news for an impending leap. It has been reported that the makers have zeroed in on Mohit Raina of "Devon Ke Dev..Mahadev" fame to play the role of grown-up Ashoka, while Somya Seth of "Kavya" fame has been roped in to play Kaurwaki, warrior Ashoka's love interest.
