Publisher Bandai Namco has announced a new game, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," which is the sequel of its earlier game, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" that was released in 2014. The announcement follows a 24-hour tease by its publisher, in which it displayed a countdown timer on its website that showcased images from the anime, movie and video game covers.

The new "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" has been confirmed to get rolled out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2016, according to the official Facebook post. The publisher also congratulated fans who guessed it correctly.

The game released a trailer video for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," which says the mission of the players is to protect the history of the Dragon Ball, be it past or future. It also adds that the outcome players wished for might be different than the result.

Reports noted that the protection of the history of Dragon Ball was the objective even in the original "Dragon Ball Xenoverse." It has been predicted that the game content will be more than that of its predecessors.

The trailer does not reveal much of what the gameplay is going to be, and only shows what players can expect in terms of the graphics. There is also no information about the customisation upgrades in the game.

The trailer shows villain Lord Slugm, and parts of the Bardock – Father of Goku and History of Trunks.

Bandai Namco can be expected to share more information about the game and its gameplay at the upcoming E3 2016.
