Piracy is a serious issue that is being faced by filmmakers with the advancement of technology, as the newly released or yet-to-be-released projects hit the cyber world causing huge loss for producers. Tamil movie producer S Thanu, who had approached the Madras High Court seeking to prevent illegal download of the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer "Kabali," has got an interim order from the court.

"Madras HC interim order on Rajinikanth-starrer 'Kabali' film: 169 service providers including 225 websites banned from releasing the film. Petition was filed by Tamil Film Producer Council Pres seeking to direct authorities to stop websites from unlawful uploading of film Kabali" ANI tweeted.

The gangster film is set to hit the screens worldwide on July 22 and the movie's producer had filed a petition requesting the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to instruct the service providers to block countless sites that might offer the illegal download option of the film.

In the writ petition, Thanu had also enclosed the screenshot of a site, which claims that the visitors can access 30 films at the rate of 12,000 downloads. Meanwhile, another website is said to be offering the audience to download an entire movie for Rs. 10 using which thousand copies can be made to sell in the black market. This illegal action causes huge loss of money for the filmmakers of multi-crore projects.

Meanwhile, Pa. Ranjith's directorial venture is one of the most-anticipated movies of the year, and it's songs and trailer have already raised the expectations of the fans, who are eagerly awaiting to see the Thailavar on the big screen. Interestingly, the hashtag #KabaliLeaveLetter has been trending on social media with the die hard fans of the superstar asking the Tamil Nadu government to declare July 22 as a public holiday for the entire state enabling them to watch "Kabali" on its opening day itself.

In "Kabali," Rajinikanth plays the role of a gangster based in Malaysia and the movie also stars Radhika Apte, Winston Chao, Dhansika, Dinesh Ravi and Kishore in significant roles. The movie is expected to become the biggest grossing Kollywood movie of the year shattering the records of Vijay's "Theri."
