After the successful venture, the production house as well as the channel are mulling over a second instalment of the show. In fact, the talks for the Season 2 are on, and if things fall in place, the new season will hit the screen in the next couple of months.
"The show has been a successful venture for the channel as well as the production house. The idea now is to keep their brand – Diya Aur Baati Hum sailing high. Accordingly, they have been in talks for a Season 2 of the show," Tellychakkar.com reported.
The news will surely excite the fans of "Diya Aur Baati Hum," who have been shedding tears over the news of the show coming to an end. Reports said that the lead actors Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid, who played the role of IPS officer Sandhya and Sooraj respectively, would not be a part of Season 2.
However, some of the popular characters of the show are likely to be a part of the new season. The Season 2 might have few of the prime characters from the ongoing series, but it is almost certain that it will have new leads.
"Diya Aur Baati Hum," with its unique concept and the powerful performances by the cast, was one of the top shows on Indian television since its inception. However, over the last few months, it has been experiencing drastic fall in ratings.
While it was earlier reported that "Diya Aur Baati Hum" was going off air owing to the constant drop in its ratings, apparently, the frequent tantrums of the lead actors, Deepika and Anas, was another reason that forced the makers to mull over pulling it off.
