Salman Khan fans have a reason to rejoice, as the superstar's film "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" ("PRDP") is all set to have a Diwali opening.

Sooraj Barjatya's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" will hit theatres on 11 November, during the festive occasion of Diwali.

With the announcement of the release date, Salman is set to recreate the magic of Barjatya's favourite character "Prem" after 15 years. Salman-Barjayta had earlier teamed up for blockbuster films "Hum Saath Saath Hain" (1999), "Main Pyaar Kiya" (1989) and "Hum Aapke Hai Koun" (1994).

Backed by Rajshri Productions, the shooting of the film is currently going on in Rajasthan. Several pictures from the sets have already made their way to the Internet, increasing the curiosity of fans.

Recently, the film was in the news when the lead actress Sonam Kapoor tested positive for swine flu. However, post recovery, the actress returned to the sets to complete her remaining shots.

"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has the actor play a double role – one as a common man, and the other as a prince, while Sonam will be seen as a princess. Though a family drama, it is learnt that "PRDP" will be different from its predecessors.

The family drama also features Anupam Kher, Swara Bhaskar, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepak Dobriyal in important roles.

Recently, Salman had reportedly argued with his good friend and director Barjatya over the length of the film. While the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" actor believes that Indian audience these days don't like long-duration stories, Barjatya, much like his previous films, wanted to stick to the three-hour format.

Further, there were also reports that Barjayta's "PRDP" will have nine songs and one of them is said to be 13-minute long, which will be composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
