The wedding reception of director A.L. Vijay and actor Amala Paul was a star-studded affair with the presence of celebrities from film industry.

The reception, held on Thursday evening, was attended by stars including Vijay, who has worked with the director and Amala in "Thalaivaa", Sivakarthikeyan, Siddharth, Jiiva, Karthi, Lakshmi Rai, Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu, Shobana, Trisha, AR Murugadoss, Suhasini, Prabhu Deva, Jithan Ramesh, Sathyaraj and Sibiraj.

 
 
 

DMK leader M.Karunanidhi also graced the occasion and blessed the couple.

Director K.Balachander, Sivakumar, composer G.V. Prakash, Ramesh Kanna, Rohini, comedian Sathish, "Manjapai" actor Raj Kiran, director Kannan, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, singer Harish Raghavendra, Parthipan, music composer Harris Jayaraj, Dhanajayan Govind of UTV Motion Pictures, Shaam, Atharva, director K.S. Amala looked gorgeous in her gold colour glittering anarkali suit designed by Sabyasachi, while Vijay looked handsome in his black suit.

Earlier in the day, the couple got married in a traditional 'Chettiyar' style at Valliammai Hall MRC Centre, Chennai. Amala was dressed in a red Kanjivaram sari, while Vijay wore a white dhoti and shirt.

The wedding was also graced by many members of the Tamil film fraternity including Vikram, Abbas, Jayam Raja, Ponvannan, director Bala, Arya, Sangeetha Krish, Crazy Mohan, Maniratnam and Suhasini.

A few days back, Amala and director Vijay had exchanged rings in Christian style in Kochi.

The couple fell in love on the sets of Tamil film "Deiva Thirumagal" and dated for nearly three years before tying the knot on 12 June (Thursday).

Amala Paul began her acting career with the 2009-release Malayalam film "Neelathamara." She became popular after starring in the critically-acclaimed Tamil film "Mynaa." Since then, Amala has starred in several Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films with big stars including Vijay, Vikram, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and Mohanlal.

Director A.L. Vijay debuted as a film director with "Kireedam," starring Ajith and Trisha. Some of the director's popular films include "Deiva Thirumagal", "Madrasapattinam" and "Thalaivaa." Vijay is awaiting the release of his new film "Saivam," which has baby Sara and Nassar in pivotal roles.
