Words are short for "Lingaa" director KS Ravikumar when he talks about his idol Rajinikanth. While speaking at the recent audio success meet of "Lingaa" in Hyderabad, the film-maker went candid about working with the superstar and thanked him for giving an opportunity to work with him.
The director also tried his luck in Telugu by addressing audience in broken Telugu.
"First, I should thank Rajini sir for giving me a wonderful opportunity. For the first time in his life, we are going to give him a film on his birthday and I am very happy about it. I hope the film will do well and it should be a very good birthday gift for him," said the director.
The director also went candid about the leading ladies of the film, Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha, and recalled how they cooperated with the whole team of "Lingaa".
"Sonakshi and Anushka are very friendly, but they never met together during the shoot as both their portions are entirely different. They met only at the promotional events, but still they behave like long-time friends. Similarly the entire crew of 'Lingaa' cooperated well with me," added the director.
He also said that completing a humongous film like "Lingaa" in six months was not an easy task, but everybody who was involved with movie tried their best and hoped that the audience would appreciate the team's effort.
"Lingaa" is now set to release on 12 December on Rajinikanth's birthday and the final preparations for the film are taking place at a brisk pace. The film also had its share of controversies involving plagiarism, but managed to surpass the issues legally.
The film has reportedly earned over ₹200 crore and is now set to have maximum release as possible. "Lingaa" is produced by Rockline Venkatesh under the banner of Rockline Entertainments and the distribution rights of the film are acquired by Eros International.
