After slamming 'Dhurandhar' as a propaganda film, Dhruv Rathee has once again targeted Bollywood. In his latest content, Dhruv has slammed actresses who, according to him, have undergone skin-lightening treatment. Rathee named actresses like Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra, Shilpa Shetty, and more for getting fair-skinned over the years.
The popular YouTuber titled the video 'The fake beauty of Bollywood celebrities.' He mentioned how at the beginning of their careers these actresses had darker skin but have become lighter these days. He also added how, on being asked, these actresses say that it happened because they take better care of their skin or avoid sunlight now.

"Ek badi lambi list hai yahan par actresses ki jinka career ke shuruwat mein rang thodha dark dhikai deta tha lekin aajkal kafi light dikhai deta hai... Jab inse pucha jaata hai ke aisa kaise hogaya yeh bolti hai ke phele yeh dhoop mein zyada rehti thi ab nahi rehti isliye dheere dheere inka rang saaf hua hai," he said.
(There is a long list of actresses who had darker skin at the beginning of their careers, but these days their complexion appears quite lighter. When being asked how the change happened, they say that they used to be under the sunlight a lot earlier and now they don't and that's why their complexion changed.)
"By the way, inmein se kuch actresses skin whitening cream ki ad karti hai... Fair skin ka raaz na toh koi cream hai na koi dhoop se bachna, reality hai glutathione injections jo skin lightening ka popular tareeka hai," Dhruv is seen saying in the video.
(Some of these actresses also ad for skin whitening cream. But the truth behind the fair skin is not avoiding sun or any fairness cream but glutathione injections.
Reddit reacts
When the post reached Reddit, users were not ready to accept it. "She's not as dark as should appears in films, especially mid body and face. Legs are darker similar to Priyanka space. Face and mid body is not as dark. For certain songs and in screen she actually tans bronzes herself," a user reasoned.
"I was convinced she was pulling these tan looks in 2022-2023 for Hollywood photoshoot but her actually sticking to this tan for three big budget mass movies did surprise me," another user commented.
"First of all I do think the left side era Deepika was into bronzer and tanning. Look at her younger pics, she wasn't thaaat dark. Barely medium skin tone. So she was just likely following the tan fashion trend of the 2000s in few of her looks," a fan reasoned.
"According to me it's just lighting and better camera picture quality. She is not fairer than before. Her skin colour is the same. If you see candid pictures like airport ones you realize that both Deepika and Ranveer are more / less same complexion and Ranveer is dusky, so must be Deepika," another fan commented.
