Dharmendra's last film, Ikkis, will be released on January 1, 2026. A special screening of the film was held on Monday evening, attended by celebs including Shweta Bachchan, Sunny and Bobby Deol with his wife Tanya and their son Agastya Nanda, Rekha, Salman Khan, and others.

Sunny Deol gets emotional at Ikkis screening as he poses with dad Dharmendra's poster

On Monday, Sunny Deol looked visibly sad when he arrived at the screening of Ikkis. He paused to pose with his father Dharmendra's poster for the paparazzi, gazing fondly at it. Sunny smiled for the cameras but had tears in his eyes. This was Sunny's first public appearance since he had expressed anger toward the paparazzi for standing outside Dharmendra's residence when he was unwell and discharged from the hospital. At that time, Sunny had come out of his house, scolded the paparazzi for hovering around, and urged them to respect their privacy.

Sunny had angrily said, "Aapke ghar mein maa-baap hai, bache hai, toh phir chyo' ke tarah video bhej rahe hai. Sharam nahi aati (You have parents and children at home, yet you're shooting videos. Aren't you ashamed?)."

Days later, Sunny was seen snatching a camera from the paparazzi as they recorded him during Dharmendra's asthi visarjan in Haridwar. And now, during the Ikkis screening, Sunny didn't say a word but posed for photos and smiled for the cameras.

Netizens were unhappy with the way Sunny smiled after showing aggression and anger, commenting that while the media was doing its job, he had been violent earlier and was now calling the same media for publicity.

Rekha kisses Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda's poster

Several other videos from the event have surfaced on social media. A clip shows Rekha showering love on Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda's poster. In the now-viral video, Rekha is seen blowing a flying kiss toward Agastya's poster. In another video from the venue, she is seen bowing respectfully before Dharmendra's poster. Later, she posed with a smile in front of the posters for the paparazzi.

Another highlight of the evening was Salman Khan's arrival. He was seen admiring Dharmendra's poster and looked visibly emotional.

In Ikkis, Agastya plays the role of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, who was honoured for his exceptional bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Ikkis is a crucial project for Agastya, as it marks his first theatrical release after his acting debut in Zoya Akhtar's Netflix film The Archies. The film also marks the Bollywood debut of Simar Bhatia, niece of Akshay Kumar.
