Dhanush starrer Tamil movie "Maari" has got a clean chit from the Regional Censor Board and the movie has been given the 'U' certificate.
Producer Radika Sarathkumar announced the news on Twitter. She wrote, "Maari gets U certificate." The upcoming Tamil movie is now eligible for 30% entertainment tax exemption by the state government.
"Maari" is directed by Balaji Mohan of "Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi" and "Vaayai Moodi Pesavum" fame. The success of his earlier movies has generated a lot of positive buzz around this movie. The audio and other promotional materials have also helped in creating a good hype around the flick.
Like his earlier movies, "Maari" is not a romantic comedy but a horror thriller that is laced with humour. Kajal Aggarwal has paired up with Dhanush in the flick, which also has Vijay Yesudas, Robo Shankar, Kaali Venkat, Srirajni and others. Anirudh Ravichander, who has composed the music, has done a cameo in the movie.
"Maari" has Om Prakash's cinematography and Prasanna GK's editing. It is jointly produced by Sarathkumar, Radhikaa Sarathkumar and Listin Stephen.
The Tamil film will hit the screens on 17 July. It is likely to clash with Simbu and Hansika Motwani's romantic comedy "Vaalu".
