A new controversy has erupted on social media, dating back to 2014, when Kangana Ranaut was taking on bolder roles and had just started her career in Bollywood.

Kangana Ranaut and comedian Vir Das starred in Revolver Rani in 2014, where the duo shared an intimate kissing scene. At the time, both Kangana and Vir had spoken about it, with Vir joking about injuring his lip during the kiss. More than a decade later, their hot and steamy intimate kiss is back in the spotlight.

Kangana Ranaut  and Vir Das slam the journalist's claim that Kangana injured Vir Das' lip during an intense kiss scene

Senior journalist Simi Chandoke, while appearing on Siddharth Kannan's podcast, claimed that the kissing scene with Kangana had left Vir injured. However, the comedian has now firmly shut down the speculation, dismissing the story as pure fiction. Kangana also slammed the journalist over the claim.

The journalist said, "When she (Kangana) was shooting, I had invited Vir Das on my podcast. Shayad woh ro padega, thinking of that traumatic time he went through (Perhaps he would break down remembering that traumatic time). When they were shooting Revolver Rani, the scene required her to kiss him deeply. Woh bhul gayi. Scene khatam ho gaya, continued... Bichare ka lip kaatke khoon-khoon kar diya usko (She forgot to stop after the scene ended and bit his lip so badly that it started bleeding)."

Responding to the claim, Vir Das took to X on June 28 and wrote, "Right. Just so we are clear. This story is pure fiction. Kangana was a complete professional and I still maintain, a truly gifted artist. This is unfair slander to her. She went on to call me a terrorist a few years later for my comedy but on set... no problems at all."

Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut also reacted to Simi Chandoke's remarks. Replying to Vir Das' post, she wrote, "Thanks Vir, but who is she? Ewww, seems like some weirdo is using us to satisfy her demonic sex fantasies. I am eating your blood and you are traumatised and crying even today after a decade. How random."

Work Front

Vir Das was recently seen in Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which marked his directorial debut. The film was released in theatres on January 26, 2026.
