Demonetisation: An app that monitors and displays the currency notes in store in ATMs
Walnut app now updated to display finer details of ATMsWalnut

At a time when anxiety among people with regard to the availability of the new currency notes in ATMs is yet to die out, popular finance application Walnut a.k.a WalnutPay has received a new update that makes it possible to track which currency notes a particular ATM is dispensing for you to withdraw.

Another new aspect is the notification alert (called 'Notify Me') which is sent to you whenever an ATM becomes functional nearby. This functionality along with the currency notes tracker supplements the already existing 'ATM with cash' feature offered by Walnut.

Finally, there is also the ability for you to report queues at ATMs, along with the availability of cash within a particular teller machine (in case you are in possession of this information).

As of now, Walnut has been updated to monitor and display information regarding available Rs 100, Rs 500 and Rs 2000 currency notes stocked in ATMs operated by select banks. This information is filtered out based on the geographical area and the amount to be withdrawn.

Walnut's ATM With Cash functionality could prove useful now considering the fact that salary disbursals and monthly payments are at their peak at the beginning of each calendar month.

Walnut app is available for both Google Android and Apple iOS users in India. Other major features offered by the application include:

  • Ability to track spending
  • Money transfer
  • Bill payments
  • Bank balance monitoring
  • Ability to split and share expenses with friends/family
  • Monthly ATM withdrawal monitoring.
