American actor and singer Wilmer Valderrama wants to be 'heavily involved' in the recovery of his former girlfriend and singer Demi Lovato, who is hospitalised at the moment. The 25-year-old American singer had reportedly overdosed on drugs following which she was rushed to the hospital.

According to a report in Hollywood Life, the 38-year-old artist wants to make sure that she recovers through this difficult time. "Wilmer is all in for Demi right now and he wants her to be OK. He wants her to be the best version of herself because he has seen that version firsthand from her," a source close to Wilmer told the publication.

"His intention is to help her through her current hospital stay and he really wants to be heavily involved in her future recovery even if that involves a rehab facility. He is not recommending anything to her right now but he has reassured her that he will be with her the entire way to full recovery and is glad to help her in any of her wants and needs."

"He wants Demi to have a long life and a healthy life. Wilmer wants her back to 100% and will be working with her, her family and her people to make sure she is on the right track," the source added.

The Sorry not Sorry singer and the former That 70s Show star had been dating on and off since 2010. In 2015, during an interview with HuffPost Live, Lovato opened up about her relationship with Wilmer.

"For us, we wanted to keep our private lives private, and we still do. But as we've been in a relationship on and off, gosh, almost 5 years now... people are seeing us more together. We thought you know what, if paparazzi gets us, whatever," she said. "But, we're in control of what we're able to post online, so we're very open about our relationship."

"I also wanted to give him a lot of credit that he never takes... He'll never take credit for a lot of my sobriety and my recovery but I guarantee it, I wouldn't be alive without him today," Lovato added.

Meanwhile, the Sorry Not Sorry singer has struggled with an eating disorder and substance abuse for the most part of her adult life. After being sober for almost six years, she was feared to have relapsed in the past few weeks.
