You must have heard the term "serendipity," meaning that only when fate wants it, two people meet. Destiny plays a pivotal role in whether a couple crosses paths again or ends up under the same roof without ever meeting. Something similar appeared to happen at Mumbai airport on Wednesday night, when former couple Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were both spotted at the airport around the same time but were not photographed together by the paparazzi.
It so happened that a pregnant Deepika landed in Mumbai in the early hours of Wednesday after completing a shooting schedule in Cape Town for her upcoming film King. The actor briefly paused to pose for the paparazzi waiting outside the airport. She wore the same cobalt-blue jacket she had been seen in while leaving for the King shoot, cleverly concealing her baby bump. Deepika exuded chic maternity fashion with her hair tied in a bun and a pair of oversized sunglasses completing the look.
In fact, Deepika flashed her dimples for paps stationed outside the airport and happily posed before heading to her car.
Just a few minutes later, Ranbir Kapoor arrived at the airport dressed in an all-black outfit paired with red-and-white sneakers and sunglasses. He shared fun banter with the paparazzi and even stopped to pose for pictures.
With Deepika and Ranbir at the airport around the same time, netizens quickly began calculating their timings online. Many speculated that the two may have narrowly missed each other, with one exiting through the arrivals gate while the other entered through departures. Some even wondered whether they might have bumped into each other on the airport premises.
The incident occurred at the time when Alia Bhatt was busy attending the Cannes Film Festival.
Deepika and SRK's romantic, cosy photos leaked from the sets of King
Last month, Deepika, who is expecting her second child, headed to South Africa and decided to complete the shoot of the major portion of the film King that she had signed before her baby bump became visible.
Last week, a clip featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika went viral, and this week, two more videos capturing the actors shooting a romantic sequence surfaced online.
In one clip, Shah Rukh and Deepika are seen running towards each other along a scenic beach before embracing and swaying together by the shore, completely immersed in the moment. Deepika looked elegant in a flowing white dress, with her baby bump subtly visible, while Shah Rukh appeared in a shirt and even recreated his iconic open-arm pose. The sequence, set against a glowing sunset, added to the romantic appeal.
Another visual showed Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika walking hand in hand during what appeared to be a song shoot. Deepika was seen wearing a floral-print gown, while Shah Rukh sported an unbuttoned printed shirt with salt-and-pepper hair. Crew members were also visible around them.
Yet another behind-the-scenes clip that went viral earlier showed Shah Rukh, dressed in a black shirt and trousers, pausing midway on a staircase before turning back and offering his hand to Deepika. She, dressed in a bright orange top and flowy multi-coloured trousers, accepted the gesture before the two continued walking between takes.
Another video that has caught fans' attention features Ranveer Singh and his daughter Dua on the sets of King, as Ranveer has reportedly been accompanying Deepika and taking care of their child while she shoots.
Director Siddharth Anand appealed to fans not to circulate footage from the film. He shared a statement on social media that read:
"Request to all the fans. Please do not post or circulate any leaked multimedia from the sets of King. The team is working around the clock to ensure the best cinematic experience for everyone. Let us wait for the surprise on the big screen and for the assets to be revealed as the team of King originally intended to. Thank you for your love, support and cooperation."
Despite the request, fresh clips from the shoot continued to surface online.
Deepika and Ranbir on work front
King stars Shah Rukh Khan as a veteran assassin in a gritty underworld drama, with Suhana Khan playing his protégé. The film also features Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, and Abhay Verma in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for one of the biggest films of his career, Ramayana. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by Namit Malhotra, the epic drama will see Ranbir step into the role of Lord Ram.
