Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament on Wednesday, a day after he joined the Cockroach Janata Party's (CJP) protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET paper leak and examination irregularities. Pawar was accompanied by his daughter and Baramati MP Supriya Sule during the meeting.
The meeting comes amid intensifying nationwide protests over alleged paper leaks, National Testing Agency (NTA) reforms and demands for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. On Tuesday, Pawar and Sule had visited the protest site at Jantar Mantar, where they interacted with students and CJP members and expressed solidarity with their demands.
According to the NCP (SP), Pawar conveyed the concerns and demands raised by the protesters directly to Prime Minister Modi during the meeting. The party said the veteran leader briefed the Prime Minister on the grievances surrounding the alleged examination irregularities and the ongoing student agitation.

The Prime Minister's Office also shared photographs of the meeting on social media, though no official details of the discussion were disclosed. The interaction took place as Parliament's Monsoon Session continues amid repeated disruptions over the student protests and the alleged NEET paper leak.
Pawar's meeting with Modi has sparked political speculation, especially as it followed his public support for the student movement just a day earlier. However, the NCP (SP) maintained that the meeting was aimed at conveying the protesters' concerns to the Prime Minister rather than discussing any political realignment.The CJP-led agitation began on June 20 and is demanding accountability for alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, reforms in the education system and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Tuesday's protest site also saw visits from several Opposition leaders, including AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs Sanjay Raut and Arvind Sawant, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, BJD MPs, and a delegation of Left parliamentarians, who extended support.
