For the first time ever, an Indian Super League side will be seen playing against an English Premier League side right as a part of their pre-season campaign. Delhi Dynamos, who are coached by veteran Italy full back Gianluca Zambrotta for the ISL 2016 campaign, take on West Bromwich Albion next month.

The match will take place at the Hawthorns in United Kingdom on Sep. 3.

The Delhi franchisee have been associated with the Premier League side over the last one year. Fans were impressed to see the electronic perimeter boards at the Hawthorns featuring the Indian football side during a number of EPL games last season.

Not only that, West Brom loaned one of their key forwards, Adil Nabi, to Delhi Dynamos in ISL 2015. The 22-year-old featured in a total of 11 games in the Indian Super League last season, scoring three times.

"Indian football is an expanding and a progressive industry, the world is watching us and we at Delhi Dynamos FC believe in rising to the occasion and establishing our presence. This game is also to reach out to the Asian community in England, Birmingham in particular," said Delhi Dynamos President Prashant Agarwal, in a statement.

"West Bromwich Albion F.C. has been a brother club to the Delhi Dynamos, and we will continue to take this association forward by many more developments in the near future," Agarwal added.

The Delhi side are looking for a new and improved start to the ISL 2016 after coming fourth in the Indian Super League last season, under former head coach Roberto Carlos.
