Season 3 of Marvel's Daredevil will return to Netflix a lot earlier than fans would have anticipated, but will the blind vigilante's return ensure a beloved villain's arrival as well?

It was assumed that due to the arrival of vigilantes like Jessica Jones, Luka Cage and Iron Fist to the Netflix universe, Daredevil Season 3 would be delayed. In fact, it was not expected to premiere at least until 2018. In fact, most fans had speculated that 2017 will be the year of the Defenders and Iron Fist.

Matt Murdoch (Charlie Cox) was expected to visit the Defenders and learn a few tricks which he would then apply in Season 3 of his standalone show. Cos had confirmed this during his Wizard World Chicago Comic Con appearance.

Most of us had interpreted this to mean that the Defenders would first air, then the production for Daredevil would start and by 2018 it would be uploaded to the Netflix library. However, the creators have now confirmed that Daredevil will return to protect Hell's Kitchen a lot sooner than expected.

When enthusiastic fans questioned about the early return of Daredevil on the Facebook post, they responded with, "What can we say? When the streets call, we answer."

Meanwhile, there is one person who we definitely want to see in Season 3 and that is the sinister Mr Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio). He is one of the best things about the show and fans definitely want him back, and he could very well be, but D'Onofrio is not planning on confirming that information. "I do know, but I can't answer... So take that how you will. Jeff and Charlie Cox and Netflix love Kingpin, and so, Kingpin is good for Marvel's television stuff and I think they agree," he told LRM.

With the other upcoming shows set in the Marvel universe, 2017 may hopefully also see Kingpin in Iron Fist and Defenders.
