Fans of James Bond movie franchise have to wait a little longer to see the 25th film in the movie series. The most awaited action-thriller film will bring Daniel Craig for one more time as 007 but the production of the film is now reportedly delayed as the film's star has signed up to feature in a new film that will be helmed by a Star Wars movies director.

As per the report from Deadline, Daniel Craig has signed onto play a detective in the film, Knives Out. The filming of the upcoming murder mystery film will begin this November, while the rest of his untitled Bond film will regroup following the exit of Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle. The upcoming film, Knives Out, will be directed by Rian Johnson, who has also penned the script.

According to the report, the director will try to finish the film before he sets off to direct a new trilogy in the Star Wars universe. The film will start shooting a month before the next Bond film was originally scheduled to begin.

Knives Out movie is said to be a modern-day murder mystery and given the fact that Daniel Craig always showed interest in pursuing different roles in his acting career, a murder mystery film sounds like a good way to begin. Following the exit of Danny Boyle from Bond 25, reportedly gave Rian Johnson an opportunity to pursue the actor before he will start preparing for his role in the upcoming British spy-thriller film.

Johnson revealed that he always wanted to work with Daniel Craig and when they heard that the actor might have some time available in his hand, they decided to squeeze the opportunity.

"I have been a huge fan and always wanted to work with him and as I worked on the script, trying to get it right, Ram [Bergman] and I were wringing our hands over who could be the detective," Johnson said. "Then, serendipitously, we heard Daniel might have a small window, and it worked out. He's an actor of extraordinary range, and we are looking forward to the fun of finding that modern detective, and collaborating with Daniel on creating a new Poirot."

Danny Boyle decision to no longer work in Bond 25 has reportedly delayed the project. It was also reported that Craig was offered a hefty amount to return as a spy for two more films despite the rumors swirling that actors like Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, and Tom Hardy will soon replace him.
