Juventus had shelled out £100m to bring Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin from Real Madrid.

The transfer fee might help raise quite a few eyebrows if it had been for a random 33-year-old footballer. But in this case, it's the age-defying Ronaldo.

The former Manchester United and Real legend himself insisted he was fortunate enough to find a club of Juventus' stature at a time when players of his age are heading to "China or Qatar".

A glance at Ronaldo's Juventus medical results show why he still remains one of the most sought-after footballers going around.

The Serie A side's medical staff found out that the veteran forward has the physical capacity of that of a 20-year-old, according to Marca.

What makes Ronaldo as good a player 13 years his junior

  • Ronaldo boasts 7% body fat, which is three percent less than an average football player.
  • He has a muscle mass of 50%, which is four percent more than an average professional.
  • The top sprint speed he recorded during the medical was 33.98kmph. Ronaldo had achieved similar top speed during the Fifa World Cup and it was quicker than any other player at the tournament.

Years of hard work at the training ground and dieting has helped Ronaldo remain fit despite the heavy workload. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is as consistent as ever and it is safe to say he would be able to find success in Italy in the upcoming seasons.

Ronaldo was brimming with confidence when he met the press and fans at the unveiling earlier this month. Having won almost everything under the sun during his nine-year stint with Real, the Portuguese forward will be expected to lead the Serie A giants to European glory.

"I'm a person who likes to think about the present. I'm still very young and I always liked the challenges, from Sporting to Manchester (United), to Real (Madrid) and now Juventus," Ronaldo had said.

Ronaldo is not part of Juventus pre-season as he is on an extended rest following Fifa World Cup 2018 commitments. The global superstar will thus not face his former side, Real when the two sides meet in Maryland on August 4 as part of the USA tour.
