Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra confirmed that she will be attending the annual White House Correspondents' dinner to be held on April 30. Earlier, it had been reported that the actress might give it a miss due to her busy schedule.

As reported earlier, this special dinner will be the last event at the White House for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Other international stars like Bradley Cooper, Lucy Liu, Jane Fonda, and Gladys Knight have also been invited at the gala dinner.

As Priyanka has become an international face now, she has also been invited to join the president. In her recent Twitter chat with fans, she revealed that she would be attending the event. "Yes I will be attending @4_mejo," she tweeted.

The White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) dinner is traditionally attended by the president and his wife, who are joined by other senior government officials and members of the press corps, according to the official site of the WHCA.

It is a great honour for Priyanka as well as India as she has got a chance to be part of such a major event. Meanwhile, Priyanka is aiming to make a mark in Hollywood and will soon appear in "Baywatch" alongside Zac Effron and Dwayne Johnson.

The "Quantico" actress has not signed any Bollywood project yet, but according to recent reports, Priyanka might sign Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Gustakhiyan." It was earlier reported that Bhansali was considering Deepika Padukone or Priyanka to play the heroine in the film.

But due to the actresses' current international projects, the final decision had remained pending. However, now it seems PeeCee is ready to get back together with her "Bajirao Mastani" director. Directed by Jasmeet Dodhi, "Gustakhiyan" is based on the life of writer-poet Amrita Pritam. If everything goes well, then Priyanka will be seen opposite Irrfan Khan in the film.
