Communist Party of India's (Marxist) politburo member MA Baby's son opted for a low-key wedding on Tuesday, 22 September, during the Rahu Kala, which is considered to be inauspicious.
Ashok Nelson aka Appu of popular music band Thaikudam Bridge married Sanidha Antony, who hails from Changanassery at 3:30 pm in AKG Memorial Hall in Palayam, Trivandrum on Tuesday.
According to Vedic astrology, Rahu is an inauspicious planet and it is believed that no auspicious ceremonies like marriage and house-warming be conducted during the time period. On Tuesday, the Rahu Kala was from 03:12 pm to 04:42 pm. However, Baby deliberately chose the time for his son's wedding as a step to break such taboo.
The couple had registered their marriage at 10:30 am at a private ceremony.
Meanwhile, a small reception has been arranged by Kerala Kudumbasree unit, where tea, tapioca, colocasia, dal fritters, unniyappam and other traditional Kerala dishes will be served for the guests.
