Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been increased from October 1, with the price of 19-kg cylinders rising across several cities. The hike comes at the start of the festive season and is expected to affect restaurants, hotels, bakeries and other businesses that rely on commercial cooking gas.
In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by ₹62.50, from ₹2,747.50 in September to ₹2,810. In Mumbai, the price has risen by ₹63.50 to ₹2,764.50, while Chennai has seen a ₹66.50 increase, taking the price to ₹2,983.
Patna recorded the highest increase among the cities listed, with the price rising by ₹71.50 to ₹3,100.50. In Kolkata, the commercial cylinder now costs ₹2,954 after a ₹70 increase. Prices have also increased in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Kanyakumari, Leh and Tawang.
Domestic LPG prices remain unchanged
While commercial users will have to pay more, there is no change in the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders. The domestic cylinder continues to cost ₹942 in Delhi, ₹941.50 in Mumbai and ₹957.50 in Chennai. In Patna, the domestic cylinder remains priced at ₹1,031.50.

Why have LPG prices increased?
LPG prices in India are influenced by international benchmark prices and currency movements. India imports a significant share of its LPG requirements, making global energy prices and the rupee's exchange rate important factors in domestic pricing.
The latest revision primarily impacts commercial establishments using 19-kg cylinders, while households using the standard 14.2-kg domestic cylinder remain unaffected by this particular price increase.
