Villagers in China made a surprising discovery when they found a wild giant panda on a local bee farm. The panda, whose whole body was covered in wild flowers, was discovered on 8 September and did not leave the bee farm until the following morning.

It turned over a dozen bee hives looking for honey in the village of Baoxing County in Yaan City, located in south west Chinas Sichuan Province.

The village lies near the Wolong National Nature Reserve and giant pandas are often spotted in the area. Staffs from the local authorities did not approach the giant panda but it is believed that the visitor was a fully grown adult bear.
