At least seven Maoists surrendered in the restive Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Monday, claiming that they were disappointed with the ideology, reports said.

The militants reportedly claimed that they were disappointed with the Maoist ideology and were frustrated with the kind of life they were leading.

"The surrendered Maoists will be rehabilitated as per the policy of state government and necessary assistance will be provided to them," ANI quoted the police as saying.

Four of the militants were in the wanted list and reportedly carried cash rewards on their heads.
