Barcelona were below par against Manchester United in their International Champions Cup game on Saturday, and the European and La Liga champions will hope for a better outing when they play the English Premier League title holders Chelsea in the International Champions Cup on Tuesday.

Without Lionel Messi, Neymar, Javier Mascherano, Dani Alves and Claudio Bravo, Barcelona have looked a little light on options, as any team would if their two best players are missing.

The trip to the USA was seen as a distraction by Luis Enrique, and whether that bit of "Oh we don't really want to be here" feeling has seeped into the Barcelona squad via their manager is a question to ponder upon.

While Barcelona struggled against Manchester United, losing 3-1 to Louis Van Gaal's side, Chelsea haven't been exactly overly-impressive either, with their first match of the International Champions Cup resulting in a loss to a second-string New York Red Bulls side, before Jose Mourinho's side managed to come away with a victory, via penalties, against PSG.

Mourinho believes the form of his strikers will be key for Chelsea in the new season – if Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao, who made his Blues debut in the last game, can all fire, the English champions will come pretty close to defending their title.

"With the strikers we have, we can play with two strikers together more than we did before," Mourinho said. "We have three very good strikers, and all of them with special motivations.

"Remy wants to go back to the national team and has a Euro [2016] to play in a year in his own country.

"Diego is very frustrated because the last three months of the season were full of frustration and injuries for him.

"Falcao had a very bad season and is frustrated because people in England don't know the real Falcao.

"All of them are very enthusiastic. And my wingers can play all play very well defensively. We have options to be different and to be more unpredictable. We can create problems for the opposition when they play against us. We can play with two strikers or one, so we have more options."

Plenty of eyes will be on Hazard, who Mourinho rates right alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi, and how the Belgian performs against Barcelona will be something to watch out for in this International Champions Cup 2015 match.

"On the pitch he leads," Mourinho said of Hazard. "He is not afraid to take responsibility. He is not afraid to get the team from a dark situation and bring blue sky again for the team.

"He is not afraid of this. He is a guy with great discipline. He is not the kind of guy you see setting bad examples and so on.

"I believe he has got to get better, and he has all the conditions to improve. With his age he can improve."
