Jose Mourinho did not make the greatest of exits as Real Madrid manager, with player problems and issues with the management leading to the Portuguese moving back to the English Premier League and Chelsea in the summer of 2013.

However, Mourinho could make a return to the La Liga soon, and that too with Real Madrid's biggest rivals, with the Chelsea boss being linked with the manager's job at Barcelona.

Luis Enrique has not exactly convinced during his stint as Barca manager so far, with the former Real Madrid and Barcelona man also thought to have problems with some of the players in the squad.

According to the Metro, Joan Laporta, if he decides to stand for elections for the Barcelona president in 2016, could decide to use Mourinho as one of his major selling points.

Mourinho has had a previous stint with Barcelona, as a part of the coaching staff, and even if the Portuguese then went on to manage Real Madrid, a return to the Camp Nou is not impossible.

Much will, however, depend on if Laporta even decides to run for the president, with the Spaniard last week telling the Daily Express: "I don't rule it out and the support moves me. Each day that passes motivates me more.

"I am not thinking about it, I have work and it doesn't obsess me. It is not my priority.

"In life one must innovate and it is difficult to repeat the past. When the time comes I will make up my mind."

While Laporta might think of Mourinho as an ideal candidate to help Barcelona dominate European football again, tempting the 51-year-old to leave Chelsea will not be easy.

Mourinho has time and again expressed his love for Chelsea since taking over a second time, and stressed on his willingness to stay at Stamford Bridge for a long time yet.

Chelsea look uncatchable in the Premier League at the moment, and Mourinho, after failing to win a trophy in his first season on return, does look like bringing back the league title to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues, also, on paper, have one of the strongest sides in Europe and, along with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, are one of the favourites for the Champions League title.

While Mourinho does have the reputation of not sticking with one club for a considerable period of time, it is difficult to envisage the Portuguese leaving Chelsea anytime soon, unless of course, everything goes pear shaped with owner Roman Abramovich, like it did the first time.
