European champions Chelsea have started the English Premier League on a promising note with three successive wins but team coach Roberto Di Matteo is not ready to take chances.

Chelsea had already roped in big names like Fernando Torres, Eden Hazard, Marko Marin, Oscar Dos Santos, Cesar Azpilicueta and Victor Moses but Matteo Di Matteo is still not satisfied and reportedly planning to sign a couple of players more before the EPL transfer window closes on August 31.

Why Chelsea Need to Sign More Players?

Well, following the exit of Didier Drogba, Chelsea signed a few top players including Hazard, but Fernando Torres is the only player in the team who could run down the middle alone and threaten the opponents. A vacuum would be created if he is injured. So Matteo Di Matteo badly needs an option in case of such potential injury crisis.

If media reports are to be believed, Chelsea is seriously planning to sign Givanildo Vieira de Souza aka Hulk of Porto. But at the moment, it looks like Zenit St Petersburg will get him.

"Despite all the rumours and speculation, no English clubs were bidding for Hulk - he was far too expensive. Zenit will pay a minimum of €50 million. The fee might be as high as €60 million. I expect it will go ahead in the next 24 hours, but no English club was prepared to come anywhere near to that figure," ESPN quoted a source as saying.

Chelsea is tight-lipped on transfer rumours as of now and it is not sure if they will go all out to rope in Hulk.

Sports World reported that Chelsea had offered £16 million for German striker Andre Schurrle but Bayer Leverkusen had reportedly turned down the offer. However, Leverkusen may relent if the European champions come up with a better offer.

With only two days left before closing the transfer window, the think tanks at Chelsea must be having sleepless nights to rope in at least a player who could strengthen the team.
