The festive season is just around the corner and the car-makers in India are rolling up their sleeves to offer the best services to their customers. While there are quite a few new models in the offing for the festive season, the car-maker are also working to bring down the waiting period of their current model to ensure speedy delivery.
South Korean auto-major Hyundai is also working to reduce the waiting period of its popular models like the Creta, Elite i20 and the new Elantra, reports ET Auto. Currently, Hyundai's Creta SUV and Elite i20 have a waiting period of about 8 weeks in India. The company's recently launched Elantra also has a waiting period of up to eight weeks in India.
Hyundai Creta
Creta is offered in both petrol and diesel-engine options. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine churns out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine develops 126bhp and 259Nm of torque. Both the engines are available with either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The less powered 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit churns out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission only.
Hyundai Elite i20
Currently, the Elite i20 in India is sold with 1.2 litre petrol, 1.4 litre CRDi diesel and 1.4 litre four-cylinder VTVT petrol engines. While the 1.2 petrol engine of Elite i20 can churn out 82bhp of power and peak torque of 114Nm, the diesel motor is tuned to generate 89bhp of power and peak torque of 220Nm. The 1.4 litre four-cylinder VTVT petrol engine develops 99bhp at 6,000rpm and 132.5Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The 1.4 engine comes coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission.
Hyundai Elantra
At the heart of the new Elantra are 2.0 litre petrol and 1.6 VGT CRDi diesel engines. While the petrol is tuned to churn out 150bhp at 6200rpm and 19.6Nm at 4,000, the diesel can generates 126bhp at 4,000rpm and 26.5NM 1,900- 2,750rpm. The feature list of Elantra includes smart trunk that automatically unlocks and pops-out when the owner stands with-in 3 feet behind the vehicle with smart key for more than 3 seconds, infotainment system with 8.0 inch touch screen- audio video navigation system (AVN) with rear view camera, engine start/stop button, rear AC vents and electro chromic mirror.
