With back-to-back blockbusters in Malayalam, young star Dulquer Salmaan has achieved the top position at the Kerala box office. Movies like "Charlie," "Kali" and "Kammatipaadam" have raised his career graph as they garnered fabulous response from the audience.

Despite receiving mixed response from the movie-goers, the actor's latest Malayalam film "Kammatipaadam," directed by Rajeev Ravi, has been performing well at the Kerala box office upon its release on May 20. According to trade analysts, the movie is said to have collected a gross amount of Rs. 7.10 crore during its first-week run in Kerala, while it could reportedly earn only Rs. 3.08 crore during the second week.

Bagging the "A" certificate from the regional censor board as well as the less support from the family audience due to the serious subject handled in the movie are cited to be reasons for the drop in the collection. The total gross collection of the Dulquer-starrer from 14 days of its theatrical run in Kerala now amounts to approximately Rs. 10.18 crore with a net amount of Rs. 8.20 crore and share of Rs. 4.60 crore.

The realistic movie, which is narrated against the backdrop of a slum that paved way for the development of Kochi as a city, has, however, failed to meet the collection records of Dulquer's previous blockbusters. The family thriller, "Kali," is said to have grossed Rs. 15.20 crore and the Sameer Thahir-directed flick was well accepted by the audience. It was the second project of "Premam" fame Sai Pallavi.

Meanwhile, Dulquer's "Charlie" still ranks on the top spot among his highest grossing Malayalam movies by collecting approximately Rs. 22.42 crore. The Martin Prakkat movie, which also has Parvathy and Aparna Gopinath in main roles, has completed 100 days of its theatrical run in Kerala.
