Even before its release, Martin Prakkat's upcoming Malayalam film "Charlie" has created many records making it as one of the most awaited films of the year.

The film is all set to hit the screens as a Christmas treat to fans on Thursday, 24 December.

Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy play the lead roles in "Charlie", which also has Aparna Gopinath, Nedumudi Venu, Soubin Shahir and Chemban Vinod in significant roles.

"Charlie" is Martin Prakkat's third outing as a director and it seems he is very comfortable with Dulquer. The actor-director duo worked together in the hit film "ABCD" in 2013, which helped Dulquer to make a mark at the Kerala box office. Even though Martin has claimed that "Charlie" is a simple love story and totally different from "ABCD", audiences have huge expectations on the movie.


Gopi Sunder's music with Rafeeq Ahammed's lyrics to the six songs of the film have already created records with more than 4.6 lakh views on YouTube. The songs sung by Shreya Goshal, Malgudi Shubha, Shakthishree Gopalan, Md. Maqbool Mansoor, Vijay Prakash, Rajalakshmi and Divya S Menon have been ranked top on the video sharing website, proving that the audience us eagerly waiting for the romantic flick.
