The UEFA Champions League draw is something we wait for with bated breath. It is this day that our favourite clubs get to learn their opponent for yet another round in the European football competition. The Round of 16 (R16) of the tournament is the most crucial among all as it somewhat decides the roadmap of the team that can ultimately clinch the coveted Champions League title at the end of the season.
The teams have fought hard during the Champions League 2016-17 group stages, and despite there being upsets -- which is expected -- 16 teams with the best of mettle have progressed.

This time around, English Premier League side Leicester City are the most standout name among the 16 teams. The Premier League champions may not have had a good season back home (not taking into account their stupendous win against Manchester City in the weekend, but solely judging them on basis of their points table record), but in Europe, they have been again, amazingly good.
Claudio Ranieri's men topped Group C with just one defeat from their six games. They were grouped alongside Porto, Club Brugge and Copenhagen. No doubt, the story so far of the Champions League has been that of the Foxes, but there is absolutely no doubt again, that they won't find it easy in the road ahead.

Two seeding pots will be formed: one consisting of group winners and the other of runners-up.
Seeded group winners will be away in the round of 16 first legs on 14/15 and 21/22 February and at home in the return matches on 7/8 and 14/15 March.

The event is expected to get under way from 4:30 pm IST (12 pm CET, 11 am GMT) on December 12. Venue of the event remains the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
