CES 2015: LG Launches G Flex 2 with Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core SoC; Specifications, Availability Details

South Korean technology giant LG today (6 January) unveiled the second generation G Flex curved display smartphone at the ongoing CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2015, Las Vegas.

"The original G Flex demonstrated LG's pioneering spirit and with the G Flex2 we have refined the curved form factor, staying true to our philosophy of innovation for a better life," said Juno Cho, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

"The G Flex2 not only has the stunning looks, it also has the powerful guts to be at the cutting edge of current smartphone technology. Simply put, it's a true head-turner in every sense of the word." 

The new G Flex 2 sports a 5.5-inch full HD curved P-OLED display and runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS powered by the Snapdragon 810 Octa-core SoC (System on Chip) aptly backed by 2GB DDR4 RAM, 16GB/32GB inbuilt memory and a 3000 mAh battery.

Like its predecessor, LG G Flex 2 too boasts of self-healing shell on the rear-side. An improvement is that the phone can recover scratches within 10 seconds under normal room temperature. The 2013 model used to take around 3 minutes to recover.

The new LG too houses advanced 13.0-megapixel main camera with laser auto-focus technology as seen in the company's flagship G3. It houses a 2.1-megapixel snapper on the front with gesture-shot feature where-in the user can use hand gesture to take a selfie from 1.5 meters away from the phone.

The company has confirmed that LG G Flex 2 will hit stores initially in the home market South Korea by this month end and later to other global markets.
