Mumbai, Jan 18 (ANI): As nine more members of the Censor Board resigned protesting against alleged interference by the government, former censor board chairman and veteran Actor Anupam Kher said that the allegations levelled by former censor board members against the government were not correct and added that the issue was being politicised. I and B Minister Arun Jaitley firmly rejected the charges, saying the "NDA government maintains an arm's length distance" from the functioning of the panel. "The UPA Government had politicised the Censor Board," Jaitley said in an article titled 'Rebels without a cause' posted on Facebook. Censor Board Chief Leela Samson stepped down from her post on Friday, amid controversy surrounding the clearance of controversial film "Messenger of God" featuring Dera Saccha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and citing interference, coercion and corruption of panel members.
