Telugu Warriors defeated Karnataka Bulldozers by nine wickets to win the sixth season of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). The defending champions won the match mostly due to the magnificent batting of Sachin Joshi, who scored 114 runs. The match was held on Sunday, Feb. 14, at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.

After winning the toss, Karnataka Bulldozers decided to bat first and its decision turned out to be good as the Kannada team scored 207 runs in 20 overs. But, what looked like a good score became a cake walk for Telugu Warriors in the end as it reached the target with 14 balls to spare. Dhruv remains the hero of the Sandalwood's innings by scoring 97 runs from 50 balls.

This is the second time in a row, Telugu Warriors won the tournament. It had defeated Chennai Rhinos in the last season.

Karnataka Bulldozers scored 207 runs for the loss of six wickets. Dhruv Sharma played a super unbeaten knock of 97 runs from 50 balls. He was well-supported by Karthik. At one stage, the Sandalwood team was struggling after losing a few early wickets.

But without losing heart, the batsmen displayed courage to score runs at good run rate. In the end, 207 is a winning total. In the previous match played between the Tollywood and Sandalwood teams, Bulldozers made 209 runs batting first and won the match by 5 runs.

Among the Tollywood bowlers, Kishore, though expensive, picked 3 wickets.

Earlier Story:

The Sandalwood team has played four matches in the CCL 6, out of which it has won three matches. In its opening clash, it defeated Chennai Rhinos by 83 runs. However, Karnataka Bulldozers lost its second match to Kerala Strikers by six wickets. But it managed to beat Telugu Warriors in the third league match by five runs.

Karnataka Bulldozers clashed with Bengal Tigers in the first final and won the match by seven wickets. It has performed well with bat and ball throughout the tournament.

On the other end, Telugu Warriors started off with a victory against Kerala Strikers by five wickets. In the next match, it beat Chennai Rhinos by eight wickets. As mentioned above, it lost to Karnataka Bulldozers in a thriller in its third match.

In the second semi-final, Telugu Warriors beat Bhojpuri Dabanggs by 20 runs to enter the final.

The Tollywood has the advantage of playing in the home ground in the CCL final, while the Sandalwood team will confidently enter the field for beating Telugu Warriors in the league stage.
