Cannes 2026: Alia Bhatt aces bold bralette look, holds lace umbrella; appears confused as paps surround her [Watch]

It's May 13 today, and if you are a Bollywood fanatic and an avid social media follower, the "Main Tera, Main Tera" May 13 memes have been doing the rounds, with edits of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan from the film Kalank.

On May 13, Day 2 of the ongoing Cannes Film Festival 2026, Alia Bhatt made a stunning appearance as she inaugurated the Bharat Pavilion at Cannes along with director Ashutosh Gowariker.

Her second look was subtle and soft, just like her Day 1 appearance. She exuded Indianness at its best. Wearing a nose pin (nath) and carrying an umbrella, she looked breathtakingly beautiful in a saree.

Alia Bhatt embraced vintage glamour in an elegant ivory draped saree-inspired ensemble. The bralette-style bodice was similar to her previous evening's red carpet look, featuring a plunging sweetheart neckline with delicate embellishments and a corset-style silhouette that flowed into soft pleated drapes.

Alia carried a lace umbrella while walking outdoors, bringing a regal, almost European summer-romance feel to the appearance while also keeping the summer vibe intact and beating the heat.

And what truly stood out was her nath (nose pin). After iconic appearances by Sonam Kapoor and Vidya Balan back in 2013, this famous piece of jewellery made a triumphant return after 13 years with Alia's look.

Once again styled by Rhea Kapoor, Alia channelled her desi girl vibes and looked strikingly similar to her appearance in Kalank.

Not only did she wear a nath, but she also accessorised with a traditional payal (anklet) by Tarun Tahiliani, paired with Jimmy Choo heels and a bindi.

Netizens had mixed reactions to her look; some loved it while many called it weird and said she looked very dull. 

Several clips from Alia's photoshoot at the French Riviera by the pool have gone viral. In one of the clips, Alia is seen getting irritated and also confused after being mobbed by fans and paparazzi as many crowded around her to take selfies.

However, netizens were of the view that Alia had called paid paparazzi and fans so that they hover around her and the hype surrounding her remains intact. 

A user wrote, "Alia called paid Indian paparazzi after being humiliated by international paparazzi, and a foreigner commented from behind, 'Who is this girl?'"
