Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor made her first appearance on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival 2017 on May 21. Before Sonam, other Indian brand ambassadors of L'Oreal – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Deepika Padukone – attended the event this year.
Sonam looked breathtaking in a Elie Saab couture piece with custom jewellery from Kalyan Jewellers. We haven't seen the actress pull off a gown like this before. Her choice of the outfit and colour was perfect for the prestigious film festival.
The Neerja actress has not been media's favourite when it comes to fashion, though she is often tagged as the fashionista of Bollywood. Also, her look during the Cannes photoshoot was not quite impressive. But the diva surprised everyone with her red carpet look and it was just beautiful.
Sonam will be seen for the second time at the red carpet on May 22. The Indian brand ambassadors of L'Oreal walk the red carpet for two days at the event every year.

Talking about the pressure of red carpet appearances, Sonam told The News: "We are going for a brand. If it was for a movie, I would've been so stressed out I would faint on the red carpet. But because it's for a make-up brand, I enjoy doing it. It's about being beautiful and you look beautiful only if you're happy inside and confident."
Sonam was also asked what advice she would give Deepika regarding the red carpet walks, and she said: "I don't think I should give any advice to someone who has already walked several international red carpets."
