Chinese handset maker Oppo is reportedly planning to launch the recently unveiled photography oriented smartphones -- R9 and R9 Plus -- in India next month.
The company has begun sending invites to media firms for a camera phone launch event scheduled April 5. Oppo doesn't specifically mention the name of the device, but the company's promotional campaign "#SelfieExpert" carried out on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter hint that the R9 series, which was unveiled in China a few days ago, will soon set foot in India.
The USP of Oppo R9 is its front camera. It boasts 16MP snapper with 78.1 degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. On the rear-side, it houses an equally impressive 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), LED flash, HDR, full HD video recording, five physical lens, CMOS sensor, and 4K video recording ability.
On the other hand, R9 Plus houses the same front-camera, but on the back, it comes packed with 16MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
In China, Oppo R9 and R9 Plus costs ¥2799 (around $431/€385/Rs 28,690) and ¥3299 (around $508/€454/Rs 33,811). Both the devices are expected to cost a few thousand bucks more in India due to custom duty.
