Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Engaged; Custom-Made Engagement Ring for Angelina (PHOTOS)

Hollywood celebrity couple Brad Pitt (48) and Angelina Jolie (36) has finally decided to walk down the aisle. Pitt proposed to Angelina with a custom-made engagement ring.

Jewellery maker Robert Procop reportedly told The Sun magazine that he prepared Angelina's ring in collaboration with Brad.

"The full creative journey - from conception to completion - took a year. He waited until the perfect moment to unveil this special jewel to Angelina," The Sun quoted Robert as saying.

A spokeswoman for the actor has confirmed the engagement of the celebrity couple. "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy," The Sun quoted the spokeswoman as saying.

However, sources said that the wedding date has not been fixed yet.

The couple had earlier stated that they would not marry till gay marriage was legalised in the United States but they seem to have given in to the pressure of their children. They have six children together.

Brad Pitt had earlier said that they might not be able to keep their word of not tying the knot until everyone could as their kids wanted them to get married.

Popularly known as "Brangelina", Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has been a couple since 2005. They first met in 2004 on the sets of the film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith". Speculations started doing the rounds that they were having affair, and that too when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Jolie denied having affair with Pitt saying that she would never get intimate with a married man. They however admitted that they fell in love on the sets of the film.

Aniston filed for divorce in 2005, and since then, Pitt and Jolie were spotted together with increasing frequency. Jolie announced in 2006 that she was pregnant with Pitt's child, thus declaring to the world that they were in relationship.

The couple has been going strong all these years in spite of the media speculations that all was not well with their relationship. It was reported quite a few times that they were heading for a break-up.

Brad Pitt was earlier married to actress Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie was married to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
