The bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is expected to be one of the richest sporting event with the American set to receive 60% from the revenue and the Filipino 40%.

It is not only the bout that the world has been talking about, but also the money at the offing for the fight, which is making heads turn as well.

The bout, which is touted as the fight of the century could witness around $400 million (£270 million) in revenues being generated during the fight on 2 May at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

But, the boxers have earned enough in their lifetime so their focus would be primarily on the bout, which is going to be one of the biggest fights in recent times as well.

Mayweather wants the fight to live up to the expectations. "Everyone talks about the money, the money, the money," The Globe and Mail quoted Mayweather as saying. "I want the fight to live up to the magnitude that it is. That's what it is really about."

People world over expect the fight to be one of the best in modern times with Pacquiao said to be very quick on his feet delivering aggressive punches and the American is known for his defence.

Can Pacquiao unlock Mayweather's defence?

It is very hard to choose a favourite between the two, but some do believe that the American is favourite for the bout. But, it would not be a huge surprise as well, if the Filipino hands the American his first defeat in his professional career.

Like any sportsperson, Mayweather's mentality is to win first always. "My mentality in the sport of boxing is to win first always but, of course, you always want to give people their money's worth," Mayweather said.

"There's been fights I look at and say I'm not really pleased with that even though I won. We're pushing ourselves extremely hard. If the fight was today I could go out and perform and look well."

Both the boxers are training hard with their respective trainers and also with sparring partners, as they are aware about the bout's magnitude. It is like no other bout, as the winner of the bout could well be established as the greatest boxer in their category.
