Update: "Aagadu" Opening Day Collections

Mahesh Babu's much-awaited "Aagadu" is all set to hit screens on Friday, 19 September.

"Aagadu" is gearing up for a huge release worldwide. The film's screen count is expected to be more than 1,400, an all time record set by a Telugu film, according to Andhraboxoffice

Mahesh Babu, who had three back-to-back hit films like "Dookudu", "Businessman" and "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu," faced a set back with the release of "1 Nenokkadine" in January 2014. Although the film was critically-acclaimed, it failed to set the cash registers ringing. The psychological thriller could not pull in crowds to theatres due to lack of entertainment quotient.

Now, all eyes are on "Aagadu" which is deemed as a commercial entertainer. Mahesh has teamed up with director Srinu Vaitla with whom he has churned out the blockbuster flick "Dookudu." The action entertainer still remains among the top 10 highest grossing Telugu films of all time.

"Aagadu" is touted to be a typical Vaitla film with loads of action and comedy. The film's teasers and the trailer have shown that the film is high on action, comedy and punch dialogues. Mahesh will be appearing in the role of an encounter specialist in the film. His attitude and dialogue delivery have received positive feedback from the fans.

Advance booking for "Aagadu" has commenced in several theatres and has been receiving fantastic response from the fans. The Mahesh Babu starrer is set for big openings at the box office and is expected to create new records, considering the huge buzz surrounding the project.

Trade experts and fans will be eager to see whether the film breaks the opening day record set by Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi." The family entertainer, which hit screens in September 2013, still tops the list of Telugu films with highest opening day share in AP/Nizam areas. Although several biggies have released after "Attarintiki Daredi," none of them managed to surpass the first day collections of the Pawan Kalyan starrer.

The film had minted ₹10.75 crore share on its opening day at the AP/Nizam box office. It will be interesting to see whether "Aagadu" will be able to beat "Attarintiki Daredi" and take the top spot in the list of films with highest opening day shares.

Produced by 14 Reels Entertainment, "Aagadu" has Tamannaah, Nassar, Sonu Sood and Brahmanandam in pivotal roles.
